Swami Vivekananda
I
have two versions of observation on Swamiji’s Horoscope. As most of the
softwares show Makara Lagna, a few show Dhanur Lagna too, and it is clear that
there is Lagna Sandhi, i prefer to go with Dhanur Lagna for our analysis as of
now. As we are going to consider a
personality who achieved a culminating point of Spirituality, the planets for
my consideration are Sun, Moon and Ketu mainly. He being a Sanyasin and
established a High order Monk Mission in this world.
Salient features of Swamiji’s life:

- · Diabolical appearence that charmed whole world
- · An Extrordinary Oratory skills filled with instant humour.
- · Higher state of Realization
- · Sanyasi
- · Name that aptly suits his Discrimination
The
Ascendant is in Dhanu Rasi along with Sun which is ‘atmakaraka’. Although we
have little discussion from classics over the Atma karaka and its relevance in
a horoscope, here incidentally I make utility of this concept in my own way.
Atmakaraka planet is that planet which is at the highest degree in a rasi (0 to
30). It could be an indication of the status of evolution of “Amsa” as said in
classics, In this world everything is evolution. Animal to Man to God. A
certain Jeeva put to the cycle of learnig in this world can reach the status of
“Daiva Amsa”. Hence the atma karaka is the key factor to identify such status.
Sun
in Vargottamma in Dhanu Rasi along with Ascendant sharing Navamsa rasi too
shows his Purpose of Birth. Sun having this distinction throws 5th
aspect on Mars and makes his nature glow with divine radiance and
fearlessness. Simha Rasi being 9th
with Sun as Adhipati shows his intensity of Dharma and well placed Kuja in the
constellation of Ketu with Ketu next door shows his troubled poorvapunya of
worldly comforts. Coming to the interesting combo in the trines starting second
rasi, it shows the Eloquence and Money matters too. With Sun throwing its
second aspect on Mercury within 15 degrees makes it vital for speaking skills.
As my observation goes Sani, Budha if well placed and linked up to Ketu denotes
the consciousness at Vignanamaya Kosha. It aptly suits his Viveka and Vignyana.
His
strong Sun also denotes his strong inuition.In his second visit to London, in a
letter to his disciple in India, he said
“ Europe is on the edge of war, the stench of war is raising all over”. Another
example is that while his American disciple was about to sail back to america
from Europe he said “ i will reach you ahead of you and welcome you there”. She
could understand the impact of his words only when she saw a photo of Swamiji
hanging on the wall in the guest room of her friend’s house in America. His Sun
with Mars in trine (where Sun and Mars are warior planets) might also denote
the warrior caste of His of which he attributed his spirituality too saying “
the world has seen the Kshetriya power of Spirituality”.
Our
scholars in the classics only say about four planets fighting in a rasi that
give Sanyasa Yoga. The weak or strong planet among these will alter/better the
Sanyasa yoga further. Ofcourse this is not a Hallmark to decide. But they hint
that 10th getting influenced by mars or moon or Saturn. Can we
relate this for sanyasa yoga well i invite some more carification in the angle.
I wish to take up few points that classics say and match with Vivekanada’s
lifestyle. A sanyasa having strong mercury then he carries ekadandi. A weak
moon (moon here is nearing its debilitation and is avarohi ) then lives on
alms.
Coming
to his star Hastha. It’s presiding devata is “Savithru Surya Narayana”. It is
again in the lordship of Mercury as sign lord and moon as star lord. Moon
exactly reflects what Sun and Mercury are in his cart. Again his Mission was
not his own and we know pretty well that he was born as a helping “ hand” to
His guru’s Mission in this world. May be that is the reason “Hastha”.
Makara
as Lagna
Except
the Ruchaka Yoga i don’t see any other great froma work planets that can put
excellence into his horoscope.
Rahu
in 12 can give foreign living , but Do Sun give ?
Saturn
position in 10th aptly shows his Karma gathi, can Jupiter give the
same temparament ?
Despite
of his dark complexion his radiance was what the captivating feature, i prefer
Sun to be in Ascendant rather in twleve.
Naadi
Observation.
Ketu
is the most logic giving and freedom giving planet. Obviously when it frees a
jeeva from bonds that is the ultimate freedom. It is of Divine nature that
prepares ground for Divine drama enact in life. In this chart almost every
planet is under the sway of Ketu except Guru jeeva getting closer to Rahu. The
veil of worldly Maya thin and active on Jeeva where as his mind intelligence
and actions are at the feet of his Guru for divine Mission. May be the Karaka
amsa Sun in Jupiter might signify this. Also the Bandhana Yoga where his Jeeva
is bound by Ketu and Rahu Directionaly shows that he will freed when his works
out his part of action in this world which is compulsory . Escaping Saturn and
Mercury to their own houses indicate that his karmic ties at Intelligence level
are to freed although his strong self Sun shows he is a Mumukshu by birth. His
Karma karaka relating to Venus Moon and Mercury made him a scholar and artist too. Ketu is a factor that
cut off his association with women in general parlance. His sister died of
suicide, he deliberately resisted onslaught of women throughout in his Life.
Even Sister Nivedita who had a love failure before she met Swamiji was at one
point driven emotionally to have him into her life as life partner which
Vivekananda carefuly moulded her to make him a spiritual partner to her. These
three planets Venus Moon and Mercury denote Vyavhara that qualified him in
estblishing a Matt or Organization and manage money despite his strong aversion
to Money matters. This combination in second house made him “Vachana patuhu”
(adept at discourses), but not “Artha Patuhu” (good at earning) although second
house shows money matters. Mercury and Moon filled him with compassion (Kripalu
Yoga).
Jupiter
aspect should be there to get any event expressive to the society. Hence
Kalatra Karak Venus not getting aspect from Jupiter avoided Marriage i feel and
Saturn withMoon promises Marriage in second round of Saturn but he Ketu was an
obstacle. Saturn with Budha as single or Moon together can give a romantic
association with married women which is absurd in this case.
Now
corelating my point of discussion “ Jeeva and Deha under the influence of Rahu
and Ketu respectively gives troubled health with a disaster soon. With Dhanur
Lagna Ketu in 6th which is Roga Sthaana and from Bhava Rasi Kuja in
8th and Ketu giving “Papa Kartari Yoga” aptly supports my view.
Just
a point of curiosity with Numerology i see that :
Swamiji was born on 12th Jan which is 3
He
lived for 39 years which is again 3
He
left body in 1902 which is again 3.
This number might denote the tripura amsa in his birth..
